HealthTech Startup Kaizen Health From Chicago Wins Bunker Battle Pitch Competition

The judges of Bunker Labs DC’s Bunker Battle did not have it easy – over the course of three months, they had the challenge of analyzing and critiquing the pitches of 20 startups. The participants included military active duty, veteran, spouse from Patriot Boot Camp and Bunkers across the country as well as select community civilians. After an extremely close third and final round, our panel of investors crowned Kaizen Health as the winner of the inaugural pitch competition! Kaizen Health took home $25,000 in cash and an additional $25,000 worth of services provided by event partner Kiwi Tech.

After an exciting three rounds at three amazing DC venues, woman and veteran-owned Kaizen Health from Chicago took it home in dramatic fashion. Kaizen Health, led by Mindi Knebel, aims to constantly improve community access to healthcare by providing a logistics hub for both provider and patient. She and her impressive team are creating a process and the technology to relieve the administrative burden from provider and financial burden from the patient so they can both focus on the healing and treatment plan.  With partners like Lyft and customers like Sinai Health Systems, it was no small wonder why our judges set Mindi and crew home with the check!

Thank you to all of our participants, sponsors, partners and judges! Bunker Battle could not have been a success without you and we look forward to future pitch competitions.
